In an ongoing effort to attain academic excellence under the academic umbrella, a national academic program was created known as: A.S.P.I.R.E.
Academic Assistance: Brothers or entities are labeled red if they have GPAs of 2.5 or below. The Director of Scholastics intervenes and guides them in the right direction.
Scholarship: Omega Delta Phi awards 4 scholarships: Untouchable Undergraduate Scholarship ($1000 sponsored by the DFW Alumni Association), Carlos Contreras Graduate Scholarship valued a $1000, Future Leader of Tomorrow Scholarship ($250 given to a graduating high school senior/incoming college freshman) and the Noe Israel Sandoval Memorial Scholarship award is to recognize an undergraduate or high school senior for his/her hard work and dedication to their academics and for passion for the field of Criminology/Criminal Justice ($500). This does not count the many scholarships that our local entities across the nation give to promote academic excellence. In addition hundreds of scholarship links are posted on our website that our members are encouraged to pursue.
Prevention: Monitor the individuals labeled yellow from above 2.5 to 2.9 to ensure they do not fall into the red category.
Identify: Locate additional resources to provide assistance in the academic arena.
Recognize and Reward: Acknowledge entities/brothers that are doing great and labeled green with a 3.0 or higher with a token of recognition (i.e. certificate, or public acknowledgement.
Educate and Encourage: Educate members on what's available to them academically (i.e. grad school, scholarship, financial aid, fastweb.com, Order of Omega, etc) and encourage them to pursue these and many other avenues to attain academic success.
